Rockaway Care Center is a 228 bed long term care facility designed to provide 24 hour residential and skilled nursing care. It is centrally located on the Rockaway Peninsula with easy access to public transportation and other vital community services. Our facility is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Jamaica Bay providing us with year-round clean, fresh air. Round the clock security guards, security cameras and a newly installed Wander-Guard system provide a safe environment for residents.

We offer a comfortable and cordial living environment in a modern facility with a warm, home-like and therapeutic atmosphere. Luxuriously furnished private and semiprivate accommodations with individually controlled heat and air conditioning are offered.

Rockaway Care Center's total care concept assure comprehensive care and continuity of service specifically designed towards meeting the needs of each individual. Our accommodations are meticulously maintained by a full staff of housekeeping personnel. Our facility is in full compliance with all regulations of the NYSDOH and all local fire safety codes. All rooms feature smoke detectors and a nurse call system. Every effort is taken to provide a secure and safe environment for our residents and peace of mind for family and friends of residents.

Complete Medical Services including Dentistry, Optometry, Podiatry, Laboratory/X-Ray and Pharmacy under the direction of licensed Medical Physicians.

Nursing services provided by skilled nursing care specific to the needs of every resident. Our in-service program ensures the continued excellence of our nursing services.

Comprehensive Rehabilitative Services including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Audiology staffed by qualified licensed professionals to provide restorative rehabilitative service to residents in need.

Our excellent Social Service staff strives to foster a felling of dignity and self-respect among our residents. They respond to the psychosocial and emotional needs of each resident and family.

Nourishing delicious meals prepared under the direction and supervision of a registered dietician and served in a modern sun filled room. Bar-B-ques and Luau's are held on the patio and in the garden in good weather.

FROM NEW YORK CITY

Queens-Midtown Tunnel to Long Island Expressway. Take Woodhaven Boulevard exit south. Continue on Woodhaven Boulevard for approximately ten miles to Cross Bay Veteran's Memorial Bridge. Cross bridge in extreme left lane and follow signs to Far Rockaway. Continue along Beach Channel Drive to Beach 48th Street, make right turn to Rockaway Care Center.

FROM BRONX AND NEW ENGLAND

Take Bronx-Whitestone Bridge to Van Wyck Expressway, Rt. 678 South. Exit onto Belt Parkway West (Follow signs to Brooklyn). Take exit 22S, Cross Bay Boulevard South. Continue six miles to Cross Bay Veteran's Memorial Bridge. Follow New York City directions.

FROM BROOKLYN AND STATEN ISLAND

Take Belt Parkway East to Exit 11S, Flatbush Avenue South. Continue to Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge. Stay to left as you cross bridge and continue along Beach Channel Drive. Bear left at every fork and proceed to Beach 48th Street. Make right turn to Rockaway Care Center.

FROM LONG ISLAND

Southern State Parkway to Belt Parkway West. Exit at 22S, Cross Bay Boulevard South. Continue south to Cross Bay-Veteran's Memorial Bridge. Follow New York City directions.
