Since we first opened the doors in 1961, the average life expectancy has grown dramatically. In the meantime, the debate on the quality of life people can expect as they get older has also grown. We’ve recently finished an extensive renovation of our entire facility, creating a warmer, "homier" atmosphere for our residents. We’ve expanded our professional care and recreational services as well. Our prime location, right on the boardwalk in Rockaway Park, is in the middle of a summer resort, with several adult residences close by. And we’re very convenient to both public and private transportation.

Every member of our staff has extensive training and experience in dealing with the special needs of senior citizens, and is committed to their happiness and well-being. From their very first day, we make every effort possible to help residents and their family members feel comfortable and secure. Our Administrator’s office is always open to discuss any additional requirements a resident or family member may be concerned about.

Park Nursing Home is carefully designed so that our aged, infirm, and chronically ill residents can receive the quality nursing care they require. Yet we’ve learned that top-quality medical care is only part of what our residents need.

Each resident’s room is cozy and comfortable, with plenty of room for the personal touch. At Park Nursing Home, every resident is treated as a guest, and is provided all the facilities of a first-rate hotel. That’s why Park feels much less like a nursing care facility and more like a warm, friendly home. We view meals as a time for conversation and socializing. Our dining areas are clean and spacious, allowing for active interaction between residents and staff. We offer an extremely varied menu, with items to suit every taste. Our licensed staff nutritionist/dietician is available to discuss whatever special diet needs you may have.

Park Nursing Home provides Restorative Rehabilitation Services in the areas of physical and Occupational Therapy, Speech/Language, Psychotherapy and a formalized Nursing Rehabilitation Program. You’re never too old to have a good time

That’s why we feel its important to offer a large variety of fun, involving activities for our residents to participate in every day. Our recreation director is constantly looking for new ideas and programs to stimulate their interests, and regularly seeks residents input for additional activities. Activities include arts and crafts, cooking, movies, poker and other card games, trivia games, and musical entertainment. Volunteers from the community and local junior high students make regular one-on-one visits and assist in running various programs. We’ve found residents enjoy the contact with these local children, and look forward to their visits.
